Preserving the Legacy, Protecting the Future
Point CounterPoint is at a pivotal moment in its history. Since 1963, more than 10,000 musicians have been shaped not only by chamber music, but by the daily rhythm of camp life and the natural beauty of Lake Dunmore. Guided by dedicated faculty and a spirit of collaboration, campers grow as musicians and as thoughtful individuals whose lives are enriched by music, friendship, and the natural world.
The Play It Forward: For the Love of PCP campaign is a multi-year effort to raise $3.5 million. This will allow us to purchase the camp property and build an endowment for scholarships and financial security. Guided by a strong and committed Board with deep ties to PCP, we are working to ensure this rare and transformative experience continues for generations.

Why Now?
Unlike many camps, Point CounterPoint has always been privately owned. Since it was founded by Helen and Edwin Finckel, the camp has had private owners: Diana and Emory Fanning, Margy and Paul Roby and presently Jenny and Steve Beck.
Since 2008, Point CounterPoint has flourished. Enrollment has grown, new programs for children, adults, and professional musicians have been added, and the camp’s reputation has never been stronger. PCP is self-sustaining and thriving yet remains on privately-owned property.
To ensure that PCP’s future never again depends on finding the right buyer, we have established the Point CounterPoint Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) dedicated to purchasing the camp property and creating an endowment for scholarships and long-term financial stability.
