Adult Chamber Workshop

Arielle Levioff, Music Director of Adult Chamber Workshop at Point CounterPoint

Arielle Levioff, Music Director

Since 2009, Point CounterPoint has included a short session for adults age 25 and older who love playing music and love gathering to play together. A supportive environment and relaxed atmosphere on our lovely lakeside property makes this a special and wonderful session. Our participants play appropriately challenging repertoire while making new friends and reconnecting with participants from previous years. Come join us as either a resident participant, living in the Lodge or our cabins, or as a daytime participant. Because kids shouldn’t have all the fun!

Pianos on the Point

On hiatus until 2027

Diana Fanning, Master Artist at Pianos on the Point

Diana Fanning, Master Artist

Pianos on the Point welcomes adult pianists to experience the joys of playing together in a warm, supportive environment. We provide pianists with the opportunity to delve even deeper into their musical journey, offering additional repertoire, insights, and collaborative experiences. We match players of similar levels to work together for 5 days on duo repertoire that is assigned at least 6 weeks in advance, in consultation with each student’s preferences. At the end of the session, students perform on our two Steinway grand pianos for an intimate audience of friends, family, and fellow campers.

Frequently Asked Questions

We welcome a wide range of skills levels at ACW. If youre concerned about the repertoire, our session director is happy to talk with you about selecting an appropriate piece.

The session director will assign each camper to two different groups. Everyone receives their music at least four weeks in advance. All groups perform at a very casual concert on the final day.

Please record yourself playing with your body in the frame. Phone videos are fine! You can upload a video in the application form, or link your video from a separate site (Google Drive or YouTube).

Meals are included with tuition, and our meals are quite legendary! Our menu is local, fresh, delicious and always interesting. And yes, there are snacks between meals. Each meal offers vegetarian options and dietary restrictions are accommodated, when possible. Each evening before dinner, we offer hors d’oeuvres and wine as a time to come together and socialize.

Adult programs use the Point CounterPoint camp facilities consisting of communal cabins with bunk beds and shared bathrooms. We also have a 12-bedroom Lodge which is a lodging option and located directly across the street from campus with private bedrooms and shared bathrooms. Testimonial from an Adult camper:

I can’t tell enough people enough about what a fabulous, no, better than fabulous, time I had with you, your staff, my fellow participants, the professional coaches. It really was the best thing I have ever done musically in my life. And it’s largely because it was all so collaborative. We weren’t holed up in private rooms beavering away at our pieces but it was a continuous conversation which I will never forget.
