Why PCP Matters
Point CounterPoint (PCP) is a chamber music summer camp on Lake Dunmore in Vermont. PCP offers young musicians an experience that is increasingly rare. Campers spend two weeks immersed in chamber music and camp life, largely unplugged, living and working together in a small community.
Chamber music is central to the program. It teaches listening, shared responsibility, adaptability, and respect. These skills shape how campers approach music and how they engage with others well beyond their time at camp.
For more than sixty years, PCP has combined serious musical study with a traditional summer camp experience, leaving a lasting impact on thousands of alumni.

Who We Are
The Point CounterPoint Foundation is a nonprofit organization established to support the long-term future of Point CounterPoint.
The Foundation exists to provide structure, fundraising support, and long-term oversight so the camp can continue offering the same rigorous musical program and camp experience that has shaped generations of young musicians.
Our Mission and vision
For most of its history, Point CounterPoint has been privately owned and carefully stewarded. While this approach has served the camp well, private ownership can leave long-term continuity vulnerable to personal transitions.
The Point CounterPoint Foundation was established to ensure continuity beyond any single owner and to support the camp for the long term.
The Foundation’s goals include:
Securing long-term financial stability for PCP through donations and grants

How we work
The Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees with strong ties to PCP and experience across music, education, finance, and nonprofit leadership. The Board of Trustees includes alumni, parents, musicians, and community members who bring both professional expertise and personal commitment to the Foundation’s work. The Board works closely with camp leadership to support fundraising, planning, and stewardship.
Our Board of Directors
From Mission to Action
The Foundation’s mission is long-term. Its current focus is a multi-year fundraising effort designed to support continuity, expand scholarship access, and establish a stable path forward for the camp.
The Foundation’s PLAY IT FORWARD CAMPAIGN
The Play It Forward: For the Love of PCP campaign is a multi-year effort to purchase the camp property and create an endowment for scholarships and maintenance. Together, we are working together to ensure this transformative experience continues for generations.
