Session Descriptions Point CounterPoint offers separate sessions varying from one week to five weeks. Chamber music enthusiasts who want to learn more repertoire and integrate all the skills they learn at camp should consider applying for more than one session! *Combinations* of 5, 6 and 8 weeks allow students to make the greatest musical progress.
Young Artists Program This is an opportunity within Session #5 for advanced students entering grades 9-12 who already have significant chamber music experience. Where possible, YAP ensembles will remain together for the entire 5 weeks, enabling them to develop a rapport and polish their ensemble skills at a higher level. They will have additional performance opportunities, which may include performances in the local community, master classes with visiting artists and performances with faculty. All applicants, including previous participants, must audition for this program.
Enrollment Deposit
Once accepted, please send a $1000 non-refundable Enrollment deposit (credited to your tuition) to ensure your place. Campers are enrolled in the order in which their deposits are received, subject to availability of housing (by gender and grade) and openings (by instruments).
Tuition Payment
Tuition is due in full by May 15th. (A $100 late fee applies to payments after May 15th.) Tuition covers all camp expenses, including two private lessons per week, coachings, meals, and activities. Not included: travel to and from camp, laundry expenses, optional purchases from our camp store. These incidental expenses are collected on the final day of each session, approximately $65.00. Tuition Discounts
Discount for campers who enroll for 2012 and pay the $1000 deposit:
- by November 15th: $300.00
- by December 15th: $200.00
- After December 15th, regular tuition rates apply
- Multiple children attending each receive a 5% discount
Scholarships
There is a limited amount of financial need-based scholarship. Requests for financial assistance will only be considered if they arrive with the original camp application.
To be considered for a financial need-based scholarship, please submit the following 2 documents: a copy of the first 2 pages of your most recent IRS tax return, and a completed scholarship application. (click here to download)
Withdrawing
If you let us know by March 1st that you are withdrawing, we will refund 50% of your Enrollment Deposit. Tuition, including the Enrollment Deposit, is forfeited for withdrawals after March 1st.
